My baby has eczema and its so itchy. He gets small rashes and at times some appear to have pus. He scratches so much breaking them into wounds. Its bad especially around the neck. What can i do to relieve him from this pain.

Okay my now 13-year-old was covered in excema from his neck to his ankles as a baby. I was breastfeeding so the only thing that cleared it up was quitting cows milk completely. If I even had a bit of dairy milk chocolate, he’d be back I out in a rash. To manage the rash, I used to bath twice a day with Haldens emulsifying ointment and a half cup of bleach to prevent getting infected. I also applied liquid paraffin gel every two hours throughout the day and he wore a cotton onesie all the time turned to inside out. Keep his fingernails short. my son grew out of it . watch him for allergies and asthma. My son was allergic to peanuts up to the age of nine. Hard work. I also think you should take him to see the Gp.

It took two weeks to clear the cows milk protein out of his system entirely.

I used the emulsifying ointment as soap in the bath

How old is he @Kwinnie102085 and which type of milk does he have? CMPA would be the first thing to rule out as it affects around 1 in 10 of the population.

Allergy UK have some information about it here Flowers

Cow’s Milk Allergy

Cow’s milk allergy is an abnormal response by the body’s immune system in which proteins in a food are recognised as a potential threat.
