Does anyone have any idea what this rash could be, my little one has had this since about 4 weeks and has got worse and spread more he is now 8 weeks. We are currently on a trial for CMPA but doesn’t seam to be clearing at all

He has been examined by a consultant and they have no idea what it could be samples have also been taken which came back with nothing

Any suggestions would be welcome

Thank you!

Allergy to what you use to wash your child or laundry detergent?

Also, do you wash new items of clothing and bedding before using them because if not they could be causing an allergy as fabric is often treated and needs to be washed first.

Originally started with just one spot on his back then progressed so unsure if that would be an allergy to the detergent but never know it could be. As soon as we noticed the rash getting worse we just used warm water and zero product but has still progressed.

yeah all clothes and bedding is washed before use

Is he breast fed or formula

littlecreeature · 20/07/2025 21:47

It looks similar to my little girls CMPA rash, she has an IGE allergy

dee145 · 20/07/2025 22:05

He’s formula fed

What formula are you using? It took us months to fully clear up a rash and other symptoms of allergy after going dairy free

dee145 · 21/07/2025 18:36

We have been prescribed Nutramigen 1 LGG

That still has traces of milk. You might need something like neocate which did the job for us

dee145 · 21/07/2025 21:14

I wasn’t aware it still had traces thank you

Yes, you would need an amino acid based formula. They’re designed for severe cases of CMPA. Not suggesting you try this in the slightest but our toddler used to eat quavers and then touch or kiss the baby and baby would come out in hives which confirmed an IGE allergy for us.
