Does this look like a hive? Penicillin

3 year old DD given 1 does of Phenoxymethylpenicillin for tonsillitis. Has come up with this itchy bump on her face about an hour and a half later. Does this look like a hive?? There's only 1 at the moment

Yes, keep an eye out.
A single hive can just be because she touched something etc

It could be or it could be an insect bite (it wouldn’t surprise me as we are all hot and sticky in this weather!)

Pop a dab of cooled breast milk or cooled boiled water onto a clean cotton pad to help soothe and keep clean, and watch out for any more redness around this site and any others that may appear

Thank you - think it is just an insect bite, it's a red spot today and no more appeared 🤞
