Rash all over breasts and torso

I'm posting on here for a second time, I had a rash appear on my breasts and it spread all over my torso, it's not on my neck no where else, it's itchy but not all the time, I went to see a pharmacist like my GP recommended, who said it looked like hives ( but I'm not conviced) and its also been 6 days so I thought hives would of disappeared by now especially as I've been taking antihistamines daily, I've convinced myself it's Pityriasis rosea,

I will be back to the GP Tuesday wjen they open, just wondering if anyone else had had this before?

I agree with your pharmacist, it's quite likely to be heat rash. If you're not feeling otherwise unwell, try plenty of cool showers and no tight or polyester clothing.

Heat rash (prickly heat)

Find out about heat rash, also called prickly heat or miliaria rubra, which is an itchy rash of small, raised spots and a stinging or prickling sensation on the skin.

I dont think my rash looks anything like the heat rash personally, and ive also had it for 6 days now and its not shifting at all.

Do you have a herald patch? I've had pityriasis recently and I had a herald patch on my back, it was significantly worse than yours too. Looks more like hives tbh.

Faygs91 · 04/05/2025 09:23

Ive got one patch on my back, I am covered all on my breasts and my torso, my breasts are the worst but I cant really post pictures of that, pharmacy said hives but I'm not convinced.

I'm thinking hives too.

Faygs91 · 04/05/2025 09:37

I thought hives would of gone by now? It's been 6 days?

My rash seems to have got worse this morning, piriton isn't touching it 😢
Might have to see if I can see a pharmacist again today seeing as all doctors are closed. Not so conviced this is hives anymore. Its been nearly 7 days.

The first pic you posted looks like pityriasis rosea. The rest are less clear but when I had it it was all over my neck, back and breasts.
I just had to wait it out for a few weeks.

ElizabethVonArnim · 05/05/2025 09:04

It does look like a heat rash. I doubt you will get a different answer from the pharmacist, but you’re right to go and see one. Poor you! Horrible to be stuck with it for a week like that.

My heat rash remedy is to wash using nizoral dandruff shampoo as a shower gel once a week - prevents any
fungal complications from a sweat rash. Don’t put it on your foof, though. Use talc when you’re getting dry - cuticura smells nice and feels cool and soothing.

Anthisan cream helps with the itch and won’t do any harm. Don’t be tempted to use hydrocortisone unless the pharmacist gives it to you specifically.

Faygs91 · 05/05/2025 09:08

Thank you guys, I have looked up pityriasis rosea and did wonder if it was that. It's itchy but not to itchy.

I might give the anthisan cream a try. I've been using double Base on it and aveeeno and ive taken piriton for 3 days now and nothing,

Picture attached it when I first noticed it. It's worse on my breasts that anywhere.

Update: went baxk to the same pharmacist I saw 3 days ago and she agrees it is not an allergic reaction, she is 98% sure it's pityriasis rosea

Thanks for the update. I hope it starts to resolve soon for you. It looks sore!

Faygs91 · 06/05/2025 08:25

Thank you 😊 surprisingly other than the itching sometimes I don't even know it's there x

I had pityriasis rose and it lasted a couple of months, it was itchy but not that itchy, not like eczema or a bite type itchy. I didn't put anything on it, I think its a mild virus, Calamine might help though

Faygs91 · 06/05/2025 08:34

Yes the pharmacist did tell me that it will last a few months, mines the same its itchy but not that itchy, like not constantly just every now and then, the pharmacist did give me some antihistamine for the itch which are working so far, thank you for thr calamine recommendation, I'll keep that in mind

@Faygs91 - I realise that this is quite an old thread but I wondered if you found out what the rash was? I have had a very similar rash for the last 7 days, looks almost identical to your photos. Pharmacist originally told me hives but I am not convinced either......I am worried it might be scabbies?! 😬
