When to start taking antihistamines?

Last year my daughter got hayfever symptoms quite badly. Pharmacist advised that next year we start giving her hayfever tablets a few weeks before the pollen season starts? Does anyone do this? Is it ok to be on daily antihistamines for the whole of summer?

Yes, it’s fine to take daily antihistamines. Some kids are on it daily for other allergies that aren’t seasonal

I take them all year round, the hayfever season seems to go on indefinitely now and I’m allergic to everything it seems.

It's fine
I've been on 4 a day for 28 years!
