This is very random.

Two months ago I bought a face cream, Nivea just a basic every day moisturiser. After two days of wearing it I felt like my skin was on fire, when I got home my forehead was swollen and my face was covered in hives.

I put it down to that brand of face cream and didn't use it again.

Now I'm not a big skin care person but lately I've had lots of eczema on my face and it was dry.

Yesterday and the day before I applied some of my daughter's Byoma moisturiser and today had the same feeling that my forehead felt tight. Looked in the mirror and I'm red and sore again and can just seem some small hives.

I've taken some antihistamines again.

So I'm thinking for some reason I've become allergic to face cream.

I wear heavy makeup most days so I'm perplexed why it's just face cream I'm having an issue with.

Anyone else had similar.

For context I'm 42 and have been having skin changes lately, mainly sore patches of eczema around my nose and mouth. Im assuming I could be perimenopausal.

Was there a mutual ingredient in both you could have reacted to?
I started reacting to skin care products in my late teens/early 20s. Turned out to be lanolin - sheep wool fat. Hydantoin is another wool fat derivative used in a lot of skincare & toiletries, shampoo etc. Even baby products
Also cocoa butter & shea/parkii butter cause reactions for me.
It'll be a process of elimination. Good luck.
