Coating, Lacquer, or Varnish?

My wife has just had an allergy test with the UK NHS which says she's allergic to rubber, chrome surfaces and nickel. That includes a lot of surfaces in the average property and ours is no exception. Does anyone know of a coating, Lacquer, Varnish, or other hypoallergenic surface treatment that we can spray or paint on please? The alternatives of always wearing gloves around the house, or removing/replacing the offending surfaces is too terrible to contemplate!

I don't think domestic paints contain rubber (or the other things you mention).

Unfortunately a lot of paints contain Latex, a natural rubber, but thanks for your response. I'm hoping to find a clear coating of some sort that we can use all over the place, rather than having to match the existing decor.
