Hello mums, I have been told that I can apply for DLA for my son who have severe allergies with asthma, I got the form but it seems complicated to fill in, and jut not sure if my son is required
Is there anyone who have done this before, is there a chanc to get DLA if I apply.
Thank you in advance ☺️

DLA is granted according to care needs rather than diagnosis. If your son needs more care than other children his age because of his conditions (+1hr per day) then you can apply - eg: send in your evidence and see what they think. You may or may not be granted it.

How do the allergies and asthma mean that he needs more care than other children? Does he need medication multiple times a day, separate food prepared elsewhere etc?

I filled this in for my child (20+ severe/ anaphylactic allergies, many environmental allergies, asthma, cold urticaria, eczema), and it was declined.
