My baby is 1 now and weve been dairy free for 8 months. He had an ige reaction with hives to dairy. Can i test dairy with that reaction or do i have to wait for tests first?

With ige allergies usually the recommendation is to not do any reintroductions until you are told it is safe to do so.
Usually they do regular monitoring through blood pressure skin prick tests and only when these show that the allergy is getting less severe then you can start the milk ladder slowly or alternatively they might suggest food challenges in a hospital setting.

I had to reintroduce some dairy to my diet when I went back to work (think chef type job) I did so working myself slowly up the milk ladder and didn't go any higher than what I needed for work. This was after discussion with our allergy doctor, but I know how hard it is to get appointments, are you under one atm? My LO also had IgE reactions.

@Myusername19 agree with needing medical supervision if they're IGE. Are they under a Paediatric Dietician?
