Hey everyone, my son has had discoid eczema for over a year now and I have tried every cream under the sun… we had steroid creams but then found the eczema came back worse once we have used it. He’s 18 months old now and wakes up multiple times during the night itching soo bad even after having antihistamines..
im potentially thinking about taking him of milk or dairy and finding a substitute but please I need help!!

If you look at the NICE guidelines for GPs around eczema then they definitely suggest allergies should be considered in infants. As your DS is 18 months, so now having food, it's fairly easy to do a two week trial of removing dairy. Keep a diary of symptoms.

Thank you I will have a look now and I will be trialing taking him off dairy and praying I see a difference because giving him antihistamines daily is not something I want to keep up. Appreciate your reply x

I had this (as an adult) and Diprosone worked for me. It is a steroid cream so you may have already tried it without success.

For me, it was considered a reaction to stress. But if it hadn’t cleared up, I think the doctor recommended an elimination diet.

Good luck. I hope you are able to find a solution for your baby.

I don't recall the name of that cream so maybe that's a start,
I'm going to eliminate dairy for a couple weeks and hopefully find a more natural healer before I rush into steroid creams.
Appreciate your comment x
