Herbal tea sensitivity?

Does anyone else have this? I know I am sensitive to caffeine/stimulants so I avoid everything that contains them. Recently, I’ve had a reaction to mint tea (twice) and a red berry tea that contained mostly hibiscus.

The reaction has been the same… an hour or so after drinking I’ve thought I was going to faint, followed by pounding heart and facial flushing.

I’m also sensitive to dental anaesthetic (have to have one that doesn’t include adrenaline) and I had quite an extreme reaction to a contrast dye that was injected into me for a scan (resulting in bp of 230/120).

I’d love to know if anyone else has experienced something like this!

Do you know whether you're sensitive to salicylates? That could explain the herbal teas.

Thanks for your reply. I’d never heard of that! But having had a quick Google, it doesn’t seem like the reactions are like the ones I’ve had. I’m wondering if I’m sensitive to tannins.
