Does this sound like food intolerance?

Yesterday, got up, felt fine, walked dog for couple hours popped Tesco, got a few bits and one of their £3.40 lunches. Sandwhich, can of monster, strawberry yogurt which I ate about 1.30pm
I had a bath about 5pm.
Had some spaghetti on toast for tea with DD.

By 9pm, I felt absolutely awful. Shivery and aching in my joints. I ended up wrapped up under my duvet with a bad head and heart pounding.

I thought I was coming down with a flu / cold etc.

Had early night, spent the night tossing and turning and locked in some weird fever dreams about Ali Fortescue and a court case I had to be up for today (there is no court case)

But I'm sat here now feeling rough, like I'm hungover. Bad head, furry mouth, foggy and achy, but not as bad as last night. The flu / cold hasn't turned up and my nose is fine.

The only thing I can think is the food I ate.

Might be completely wrong OP but it could be Covid? I’m just going through it again and my initial symptoms were (out of nowhere) absolutely freezing shivery aches and racing heart during the night. Little bit of a blocked nose the next day but otherwise all the symptoms have been headache and body aches. I have also had a fever. Symptoms seem to present themselves really differently it seems now as my husband had it before me and had a horrendous sore throat, chesty cough and runny nose, which I’ve had none of. Just a thought given there does seem to be a lot of it going around at the moment!

Sounds more like a virus to me (than a food intolerance).

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 02/07/2024 21:42

Why would you think it was food intolerance rather than covid or another virus?

Coconutter24 · 02/07/2024 21:43

Doesn’t sound food related at all

Covid's doing the rounds loads of posts on it at the min. Dd2 has allergies and sounds nothing like that op, hope your better soon

I had exactly the same symptoms, came on fast. As had DH a few days earlier as did our neighbours the week before. Ticked all the boxes for COVID.

COVID didn't even cross my mind tbh, I don't have a cough or shortness of breath or change of sense of smell etc.

I thought it food intolerance as it came on after I'd eaten the yogurt and monster, not things I tend to have. I went to Dr Google it and NHS has a site that said:

But there are lots of other possible symptoms, including headache, feeling tired or exhausted, feeling sick, constipation, joint pain or rashes.

I've woke up feeling hungover after not drinking before, usually after a takeaway.

Woke up back to normal today so if it was COVID, it didn't last.long thankfully. 😁

Could have been the Monster, I can't touch those without getting a racing heart and a banging head ache. You could have had a caffeine comedown?

When I wake up feeling hungover it's usually because I haven't drank enough water or been eating particularly well/nutritiously in the couple of days before.
