Our family have been blindsided this week. Grandchild has Coeliac confirmed by a very positive blood result in January!!! Absolutely no contact from GP or paediatrician. Daughter wasn’t even made aware coeliac was being tested for CD
Anyway fast forward to May ,after my daughter enquired about blood test results she has now found out her daughter results are absolutely outrageous
Anaemic.8.7
Platelets 581 very high.
ttg ..main screen 228 ..normal below 10 .
Just need a bit of perspective.
How do these results compare with a child of similar age . Child is 4 .Would welcome sum perspective. Thank you.Xx

I am celiac.
She will fell better and her anemia will correct itself once she eats properly.

Did the GP say anything more? I wouldn't worry about how they compare to other kids. Just focus on gluten free food with high iron.

I am a coeliac, recently diagnosed at 39 and my bloods are pretty on par with your daughter.
Getting rid of the gluten eventually starts to fix it all. I have to supplement and I take a lot of tablets currently but I have 39 years of damage.

In essence, she will be fine once gluten free.
