Aptamil pepti 2 - how to make

Hi everyone,

I am so confused!

My 7 month old has been on nutrimigen for a month and yesterday every single pharmacy had none in stock and you can't buy over the shelf. Finally, I have managed to get my hands of aptamil pepti 2.

I am finding the instructions so confusing. It says to boil kettle and leave for 30 mins. Then add formula and cool under the tap until the temp for a baby. It then says serve straight away.

How am I meant to make her bottle at 4am when she is screaming for her feed when I have to wait 30 mins? Or how can I leave the house? I have thought that I could boil the kettle, wait 30 mins, put in thermos, then use nutri cool to cool it down. I have a perfect prep machine so was thinking I should just put all the water in bottle, before adding formula but as I don't know what temprature water is after being in kettle for 30 mins, I have no idea if they are the same.

I ebf until 6 months and in the last month I've had a batch of formula recalled and now struggling to get the special milk for my daughters dairy intolerance. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed!

Thanks in advance!

I don't know about pepti but my daughters formula said leave for no more than 30 minutes.

We used to use the perfect prep type approach and made it mostly with just boiled water and the top up with cooled boiled water to get to the right temperature. When I was in hospital they made it with all boiled water and put in a jug of cold water and it took at least half an hour to cool down not what you need at 4 am! I did 3 Oz boiled with 2oz cooled water for 5oz bottle and 5/3 for an 8oz bottle. Not sure about the leaving it as I thought most formulas were ok for 1-2h at room temperature, 1h is started drinking and 12-24h in the fridge so you would need someone with pepti experience for that advice.

I didn’t use that particular formula but did use nutramegen (sp) and another one also beginning with n. Both needed a water temp in the upper 30 s
I kept boiled cooled water in a sterilised bottle in the fridge and boiled water in a brand new only used for baby thermos flask. So at 3 am I poured the flask water into a sterilised baby bottle and added enough boiled cooled water to make it the correct temp. Then I added the formula.
