WINE

I didn't really know where to post this thread but I guess what I'm going to tell you about is some kind of allergy.

Sometimes, not all the time, when I drink wine my face comes up all blotchy, red and burning hot. I have just had one sip of a glass of wine and within a minute I've reacted. It's not a wine that I haven't drunk before - in fact it's the last glass from a bottle that I opened two days ago.
I just don't understand why sometimes I get this reaction and sometimes I don't.
It's so uncomfortable and at times embarassing especially when I'm in company of friends.

Anyone else get this problem and know why it happens?

Not quite the same reaction as you - but I get really itchy eyes and hands after drinking white wine......rubbish isn't it!

I don't want to give up wine
I will just itch

Great advice Cod. I'm fighting my way through the rest of the glass. It's only DH that has to look at me so it doesn't matter - we've been toghether long enough now for me not to care what I look like in front of him

oh. I've had that. Never with wine though. Just a small amount of vodka and other liqueurs can do it for me. It is very embarassing.
