Hey, my daughter has been diagnosed with a Dust mite allergy. Any ideas on how to better manage in her bedroom. She has a bunk bed and I’ve been advised to get a normal bed. Any suggestions?

Freeze teddies to kill off dustmites. Vacuum everything with a good vacuum with proper HEPA filter. Put dustmite covers on mattress, pillows and duvet. Wash all bedding at 60.

Get rid of the carpet if you can as well and hoover weekly, including the curtains and the mattress.

Thank you. I will look at changing the carpets to flooring.

Have a read of this from Allergy Uk too Wink

Brought some covers, pillows and duvet. Also changed her bunk bed to a single bed. Hopefully that will help a bit. Just the flooring to sort and teddies etc. Thank you!

I haven’t. The doctors letter did say a leaflet was enclosed but there wasn’t anything. I’ll have a read of that now. Really appreciated 😊

Freeze sheets before putting on the bed, kills any leftovers from the washing
