Baby allergic to Alpro oat milk, but not oat yoghurt?

Hi all

First time posting in this topic but wondering if anyone can help please. My baby is 10 months old and ebf. We have been back and forth over cmpa and it seems finally we think he does have a mild intolerance to dairy (nappy filler poos 48 hours after having dairy, not quite diarrhea but unusual for him).

I have so far been using expressed breast milk on his cereal with no problem, however I go back to work in March and he starts nursery so this weekend I have tried him on Alpro growing up oat milk, just in his cereal. Yesterday he had a small red patch come up on his neck during breakfast that I just put down to the bib rubbing a bit. However today with more of the milk in his weetabix the rash happened again and I know it’s not the bib now.

He has Oatly Greek style yoghurt regularly and this hasn’t ever happened with that, but wondering if it could be something specific to the Alpro milk? Has anyone got any experience of something similar?

Thank you in advance, picture of his neck attached, it was difficult to get anything clear given he’s such a fidget!

Is the oat milk 'raw' unlike the yoghurt which is 'cooked'? (Or could it be the cereal?)

One of my children was allergic to a certain fruit in its raw state but could eat it in jam, yohgurt or as sweets!

@SleepingisanArt good point on the raw vs cooked! Hadn’t actually thought of that at all, as interestingly his dairy intolerance is only from milk in the ‘raw’ form of milk or cheese, not from baked/ cooked milk.

It’s such a difficult one to navigate isn’t it when that’s the case! But sounds like that’s definitely a possibility. I also eat porridge every day for breakfast so am assuming a small amount makes it through my milk and hasn’t caused problems. Sounds like the ‘raw’ thing might be what’s happening here

My daughter has a pea protein allergy as well as other allergies and this rules out all of alpros oat products but she is completely fine with oatly products that don't contain coconut (another of her allergies)

I'm allergic to rapeseed oil which is in most alternative milks. Tricky when your dairy intolerant 😆
