8 months old baby struggling after eating pasta

Hi,
I have given pasta to my 8 months old for the first time today and he has been struggling since after the meal (about 8 hours now)
He cries on and off and seems to be in quite a lot of pain and he is warm (although thermometer shows no temperature).
Just wondering whether it could be an allergy or intolerance, if anyone has gone through something similar.
He has eaten bread before a couple of times without any issues.
Thanks!

Pasta can be rather heavy and difficult to digest. I imagine he has a windy tum.

My daughter has a gluten/wheat intolerance. She is fine with most gluten/wheat but if she has too much pasta or any cous cous she has awful trapped wind. At first nearly all of her pasta had to be gf - our preference is brown rice pasta in Sainsbury's but she is 3 now and she mostly has regular pasta and just needs occasional gf pasta. We haven't made progress with cous cous. Our dietitian has said this was fairly common as there is more in modern diets compared to our ancestors. She had a patient who was fine except if they are Weetabix.

For us it was quite different to her food allergies.

Wheat is so very problematic.

Clearly your little one is struggling with it so listen to him and cut it out now before bigger issues apprear.
