dd 10.5 mth had lactose intolerance from birth till 6 mth (she was on sma LF) she has been on normal formula since 6 mth and has been fine, i have used cows milk on cereal every now and then and she seemed ok but what do i do about introducing cows milk as her morning and bedtime drink? can you mix formula with cows milk? i.e to gradually introduce it? or should i just give her a drink of cows milk with her breakfast and see how she is?

wait until she's a year old then just switch over when you finish your last formula can .. DS never noticed

I would guess she'll be fine, too, Lilsmum (lactose wise). You can mix formula & milk if you want, if she finds the transition easier.

I was just thinking about this

if you've any hint that she might be lactose intolerant still I would give her her first milk drink in the morning .. then you can watch her for any reaction

Hi,
just thought i'd join in here, ds1 and ds2 were lactose intolerant, ds1 was'nt diagnosed until about 3 months, and was'nt able to cope with cows milk until he was 5yrs, with ds 2 i recognised it almost straight away and now at 18 months he is down to half formula and half cows milk mixed and tolerating it.
