Finding it difficult to find which foods are soya free. Also what do I use in recipe where it calls for soy sauce

Soya free bread - best supermarkets are Tesco and Aldi. Sainsbury's are awful
Green and blacks chocolate in their velvet range are all dairy and soya free except the salted caramel

What sort of foods are you after?
There are some none soya alternatives to soy sauce but they clash with my daughter's other allergies so I haven't looked into them

Ditch all the processed foods.
And leave out soy sauce, adding salt to taste. Sorted.

I can't remember the source, might have been The Vegetarian Myth by Liere Kieth, but textured soy was originally licensed as packaging, and at that point it was not allowed to be in contact with food stuffs.
Very interesting to see/read how soy products are produced. Definitely worth a google.

If you have a look online at Sainsbury's, you can set up your dietary profile so it will flag up anything you choose with Soya in. I did this for a while when I had to cut out a different allergen.

Unfortunately Sainsbury's disabled this feature about 18 months ago on the promise that something new and shiny coming later "this" year. It's not worked since last summer it is very frustrating!

Bread is the trickiest as almost everything has soya in it. Tesco finest range is all soya free and our saviour. For chocolate, Moo Free is soya free. I'm afraid I haven't found any alternatives to soya sauce so we just don't make any recipes needing it.

Sorry Super. I had a look at their website before posting and they are even promoting it on there.

Cheeky promoting it when it's not a service you offer.

I shop online with them weekly and used to use the function a lot as my daughter has 20 food allergies. This is the message I have been getting for the last 18 months

Really feel for you @Superscientist. It was a great service and dealing with that many allergies must be so hard Flowers
