Identifying food rash

Hi, please help! How on earth do you tell a food allergy rash from other rashes or sensitivities? Our son has sensitive skin. He's school age and we introduced peanuts last month stupidly. He had an obvious rash from peanuts so we got rid of peanuts entirely in his diet. All nuts. He's had milk and egg his whole life so I can't imagine how he'd be allergic to that. Nothing in his diet is anything he hasn't had for all or most of his life. Now that we are looking closely, he will get occasional little pinkish/light red flat dots but we don't know if it's sensitive skin or a reaction. We thought it was milk, eliminated, reintroduced it seemingly with no problem but these random dots crop up. Is there a tell tale way to know? This is frustratingly subtle if it's an allergy. He never had an itch even with the peanut rash but though he gets very itchy with average bug bites. It's like every classic sign is backwards for us. Thank you

If he's school age could the rash be viral?
