Cmpa or acne?

My 4 week old started getting what I thought was a little bit of baby acne about a week ago but the past couple of days I have noticed it gets worse and more red normally after a feed. Once she has had a feed it flares up but then calms down quite quickly so I’m not sure but I am now thinking could this be CMPA? She has been more fussy than normal the past couple of days and seems to be in a bit of discomfort maybe a little constipated but generally is a happy bub. I attach some pictures just wondered if anyone could let me know what they think, acne or cmpa rash?

That does look a lot like CMPA/allergy rash to me. Baby acne can also be a sign of allergies. Has she had any mucus in nappies? Distress or colicky symptoms? If so then I would strongly suspect CMPA.

Thank you! Yes, colicky symptoms in the evening, no mucus in nappies though.

It turned out to be baby acne for my little one. I think she was getting hot when feeding/being held which was flaring it up more but her skin cleared up perfectly after a couple of weeks. I found the kokoso baby coconut oil really helped!

Hi, @AMiethke sorry to ask as I know your post is from a while ago. My son is suffering from similar symptoms to your daughter. I am hoping is baby acne but concerned could be CMPA. Trying to work out which at the moment. I have also read about applying coconut oil - could I possibly ask how often you applied and whether you used as a moisturiser or face wash. Thank you very much.
