Can I have recommendations for a paediatric allergy specialist in London. I would like to see someone who is not only highly knowledgeable, but has a kind manner and with whom I can discuss my concerns with at length without feeling rushed. Thank you in advance.

I take my son to see Prof Adam Fox who has been really great - as is his team. Very considerate in their approach and I feel they really listen. I think he wrote the imap ladder so is very good with milk allergies. I see him at the Elstree site so not sure if that contributes to the calmer atmosphere compared to the Portland or GOSH.

I previously saw Prof Lack who is v knowledgable but I didn't quite like the appointments I attended and felt I was being told off if I struggled with implementing the treatment plan. The approach was also quite overwhelming for me as a first time mum. Eg he wanted me to wean when my son was 3 months and introduce all the top allergens within a week. I had barely researched weaning at that point and didn't feel comfortable doing that.

Thank you so much for your prompt response. I am thinking of booking with Dr Fox. He is incredibly popular which makes me think if he is too busy to give me the time i need… irrational I know but I have seen some consultants over the years and have left feeling disappointed when I haven’t discussed everything I needed to.

I have read mixed reviews of Dr Lack… that is a lot to put a 3 month through.. and you!
I am also considering Dr Du Toit.
