Hi can anyone help me out, I'm going crazy with itchy ears, which can be flaky dry skin too, I've used numerous creams, ointments,light steroid cream and ear drops, I take a anti histamine, some of these things help for a little bit, but the problem won't go away 😔

Is it inside the ear @Safxxx? Have you asked the Pharmacist to take a look?

Is it inside? I had eczema which had become infected so antibiotics and a swilr of olive oil resolved the issue. I was in a bit of a viscous circle of scratching, infecting etc

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto I had a docs appointment today and he checked them said it's eczema, gave a hydrocortisone ointment and optimize eat drops which contain steroid, I was not happy as I've used both in the past and although the drops gives relief the problem still remains.
He said there is no cure, just need to manage your symptoms 😔

@Lenovolaptop
Yes inside the ear, mine hasn't been infected but the treatments haven't got rid of it....I was hoping maybe some herbal remedies might work better.

I get this all the time especially in the summer. Best thing I've found is once it's calmed down with Dakatort cream and Optimize to use Vaseline before showering/ hair washing.

I get the same and when it flares up/itchy I use the hydrocortisone ointment until it calms down. I used to need my ears packing with antibiotics as they got that infected. The ENT consultant told me to put some cotton wool in my ears every time I had a shower and I've not required the packing since then, just the ointment. It's been twenty years so it must be doing something.

I used to have eczema, not in my ears though. Turns out I have CMPA. I cut milk out and my Eczema and Rosacea disappeared.

Do you know if you have any allergies?

Safxxx · 10/06/2023 18:14

@SiouxsieSiouxStiletto
Not that I know of, but yes certain spices flare it up, and also gets worse before starting my periods 😔
