Blood test phobia

Hi mums.

Anyone ones LO terrified of doctor/hospital? My daughter had a blood test as a toddler and had a trainee try and fail at finding a vein to take blood. It was a traumatic experience. I have to take her again, she is 6. And she says she never wants to go to a hospital again. I am on the autistic spectrum so sometimes struggle to explain really clearly to her things. I just don't know how to get her to have another blood test, but she needs one. I wish there was a way around it! I used to have needle phobias so that probably hasn't helped. Any advice would be gratefully recieved

Emla cream. It’s a numbing cream.
You can buy it otc and put some on her to try before the appointment so she knows she won’t feel anything, it may ease her fears a bit.
