Is this likely to be reflux?

Hi,

I am a first time mum and Bubba was 9 weeks yesterday. She was breast fed for around 2 weeks then we weaned her onto formula (Aptimal 1). Bubba has always been really fussy but we noticed an increase in fussiness and crying in pain on the switch to formula. I have been taking her back and forth the GP as I believed she had silent reflux. (She displayed all the symptoms, uncomfortable after feeds, hiccups every after every feed, crying, knees up and chewing on her sick before swallowing it back down). At this point the GP was useless and suggested we wait it out. After numerous visits with no joy the GP finally prescribed Gaviscon which was a little effective but made her really constipated so we had to discontinue using it. In desperation we switched her formula to Kendamil 1- this hasn’t improved or worsened her symptoms. The only thing which changed is that she started to bring up clear fluid which I assume to be acid relfux. Anyways i went back to the GP this week who was really helpful for a change and prescribed omeprazole (she was debating whether to treat her for reflux or CMPA).

Since being born she has always been a hungry baby, which i think is more down to comfort than wanting to eat. She has reduced her feeding from every two hours to four and unless she is starving she will mess around with the bottle teat in her mouth for a good 5 minutes before taking the feed.

So my actual question: since taking the omeprazole, she is actually bringing up much more sick than before. It doesn’t seem to hurt her anymore but it has largely increased. Is this normal? Any advice would be appreciated.

-Another frustration is that my in laws are adamant that she is absolutely fine and me and my partner are stressing her out with our worry. Between the GP and in laws they are making me feel like I am crazy and making it up!!

I should add that her stools are really inconsistent either goes days without going or 6-8 times in one day! She has spots on her face near her chin and neck which GP said is baby acne.

Hey, Update on my post. It was silent reflux she was diagnosed with. We tried gaviscon but it caused constipation and only had little impact. Omeprazole was a game changer for us, she took it until around 7 months old.
