Hi my 6 week ols has been suffering with awful reflux and colic. Only being sick around one a day but all the other symptoms such as hating lying down, grunting, constipation, hiccuping coughing, inconsolable crying, spit up, a mild sniffly nose, fussy with bottles which tends to be worse in evening. No diarrhoea, no rash or skin issue. Baby is constantly unsettled, sleeping only for 10 minutes or so. Night time is worse he screams from 7pm until 12pm and using milk to soothe hip. All night he grunts horrendously and rolls around cot very uncomfortably. It really has been awful. Prescribed gaviscon which did nothing other than constipation, Omeprazol on a max dose (6ml) hes formula fed and weight is 4kg this did nothing even with increase. Im at the end of my teather. We tried anti reflux milk which did nothing and also hipp organic which just made him vomit more. Also prescribed lactaluse to help bowels and use infacol.
iv tried reducing both of these to help again makes no difference.
we have now switched to lansoprasol instead or omeprazol.
we have now been prescribed aptamil pepti 1. Ever since he has been screaming in pain, taking only 2oz of his feeds, he seems in even more discomfort, very windy and difficult to burp. Its like the milk has caused complete discomfort. I didnt do a gradual wean so im wondering if Iv upset his tummy more than it already is by not doing this gradually. He has been unsettled all night, all day and now all evening. Again worse in the evening . Has anyone else had a similar experience when using this milk. Nothing is working!! Im reluctant for him to go on neocate as I dont think he has a milk allergy to that extent but who knows??
