Allergy to smell of flour?

I started a new part time job , in an industrial bakery, a month ago and I’ve yet to work a shift without a constant runny nose. I also come home with my face hot and red.

I am severely allergic to perfume and many strong smells but it has still taken me until today to think this may also be an allergy…

For reference, I guess the flour is in the air and could just be abrasive to my skin but when I’m faced with ongoing perfume (being in a house where someone is running their washing machine with fragranced washing powder) my nose and eyes itch but also my cheeks and sometimes shin.

has anyone experienced this too?

I don't personally have this, but wheat is a recognised allergen so it's certainly possible you have an allergy to it. Do you eat bread, etc? But potentially the wheat dust may be irritating you even if you can eat gluten.

I agree with @CorsicaDreaming.
Could it be the particulate/abrasive nature 9 of flour dust in the air?

Sorry both I forgot I had posted this as I’ve had a few days off.
It’s funny that I may discover an allergy at 49 years old to something so everyday… but I understand your points. Yes I can eat gluten but have never been a big fan of bread.
thanks
