Does anyone manage to take HRT while having a histamine intolerance?

I don't have an answer, but I was hoping to hear from some posters who have tried, whether successfully or not. I'm at that stage myself, but have only heard about oestrogen exacerbating histamine intolerance/MCAS - would love to hear a counter-narrative!

No, I've tried all types and can't tolerate any of them

Damn

Hopefully someone will come along with a solution for us all!

Here's hoping. I did have some success with maca, can't remember now why I stopped taking it. It helped a lot with night sweats.

Have a look on a Facebook group called The Irish Menopause. Join the group Then type histamine in the search bar (magnifying glass symbol).

Hi I was wondering what your symptoms are when taking estogen ? I have had so e strange reactions and I am wondering if its hystamine intolerance. So I used patches everol 50 I came up in a widespread rash all over my legs and bottom hands as neck big red splodges Nd raised hives like welts . I stopped the patches the. Tried the gel oestrogel I then came up in the itchy red rash and hives again !! I also have a very. Irritated bladder and my skin all over my body has gone very very dry I have stopped all hrt for 2days now rash is subsiding but bladder still feeling irritated . Doctors do t understand why this is happening said they have not come across anyone allergic to the gel before ?
I've had a full hystorectomy and they say I need hrt as I'm only 42 but it seems to be triggering something ?? 😞😞😞

Hi @Sadsadsore . I can't answer your question as I haven't tried oestrogen, but maybe @kingsleysbootlicker can. What I can say is that histamine intolerance/MCAS can show up with a wide variety of symptoms, including skin ones like hives.
Maybe try asking in the fb group mentioned above.

I can't remember clearly as it was many years ago, but I know it made me very very groggy and my brain fog was much worse, and I had an increase in headaches/migraines. I also had the irritated bladder
