Blocked and/or runny nose

I have a chronic blocked and runny nose, possibly due to allergy or chronic sinusitis. Apart from taking antihistamine or nasal sprays, are there any other ways of helping with the condition?

Thank you. I'm at my wits end 🙏

It’s Hell isn’t it? I have been battered by a full on allergy attack today and I have no idea why. I am a big fan of Olbas Oil but this helps rather than treats the issue.

@Greenshake thank you. Sorry you've been experiencing similar today. It's really horrible not being able to breathe through the nose when I know it's better for me. I'll look at Olbas too x

It’s the constant throat clearing as well 😞

Have you ever had allergy testing done, OP? I recently did and was off the charts for dust (plus many other grasses, plants, animal dander, mild dairy etc. and apparently these are very commonly linked).

I find nose sprays and tablets help when I know I can't avoid allergens - although the tablets make me sleepy even if they say non drowsy - but the biggest change for me has been limiting clutter (more surface areas = more surfaces for dust to collect on), changing carpets for Lino, wood or tiling and hoovering/ washing bedding (including the actual duvet and pillows themselves) and my bed far more often than I was.

I also personally find dairy consumption makes me more prone to allergies so have limited that a lot and I've been able to cope a lot better.

It's horrible dealing with allergies and people who don't have them find it hard to understand the discomfort - sending love & solidarity
