Contact dermatitis? Allergies?

My 14 month old DD gets a red, blotchy face on her chin and on her cheeks when she eats. I can't quite figure out if it's hives or a eczema type rash if I'm honest. Under her chin is a little dry too.

It comes up within a few minutes of eating and disappears a few minutes after the meal.

The weird thing is it doesn't happen every time, so I'm thinking it might be a contact rash associated with food smearing on her face. Does that sound likely? I've only heard of that happening with acidic food like tomatoes but everything sets her off - beef, avocado, chicken. I think her wet wipes also trigger it.

Is it safe to continue to feed foods that give a contact rash?

Does this sound like contact dermatitis?

She had eczema when she was 6 months old which went away when I cut out eggs (shes EBF).

DD is allergic to peanuts, tree nuts eggs and sesame so my other theory is that there is cross contamination going on but I've been so careful I don't think that's all that likely.

My atopic DS with lots of food allergies used to get this.

We were told to put a barrier cream (moisturiser) round his mouth before meals.

I also avoided wet wipes, as even the natural ones irritated his skin. Warm water and cotton wool worked best to clean his face after.

It improved at about 18 months if I remember correctly.
