I’ve had a chronic cough for years, pre Covid. Had two chest x rays, antibiotics, anti histamines, inhaler, Omeprazole. All with little or no effect.
I’ve cut out dairy apart from a little cheese maybe once a week.
GP is convinced the cough is caused by reflux, the only symptom I have is the cough. I had an endoscopy pre Covid but didn’t have sedation and wasn’t able
to tolerate it for the whole of the procedure so was inconclusive. I have asked for a re referral and will have sedation this time.
I eat cereal most days. This morning I’ve been fine, no coughing really. Had some cereal and then later on a biscuit, the biscuit was scratchy on my throat and since then the cough has been bad.
It hasn’t occurred to more until now that it could be allergy related. If it was an oat allergy would the symptoms be coughing? I’m definitely more sinusy today, and the cough has become more troublesome since probably I had Covid in June.
It’s at the point where I’m reluctant to attend staff meetings and actually go to the office. I do have work from home option.
Coughing isn’t listed as an oat allergy symptom, just wondered if anyone has similar experience please.
