Latex allergy?

A few weeks ago I was helping organise a birthday party, I was handling balloons putting together a balloon arch, I never thought much of it at the time but my eyes became really sore and itchy and I felt almost like I had a cold, it only lasted a few hours.
Today I blew up balloons for my daughters birthday, almost instantly my hands were itching, eyes sore and itchy and my lips were sore, they are still sore just now. Nothing like this has ever happened with anything else, it just seems to be balloons and only very recently.
Does this sound like a latex allergy? Can it just start like this? I'm 30 and have never had an issue so just thought it was very strange.

Yes could be to the latex or the fine cornstarch powder they put on it to keep it from sticking to itself. (I have a sibling with a corn allergy).

You can develop an allergy at any point in your life.

Oh thanks that's interesting I never thought about the cornstarch, I just thought it odd that it's just so out of the blue.
Would there be any point in contacting my gp do you think?

Presumably you eat corn though and are ok? If so,
Yes, I’d call gp and dentist to add to your medical records a latex allergy.
