My dd was hospitalised on Friday morning when she was at daycare after eating scrambled eggs there, I got a call from the daycare saying my dd has been rushed to hospital after taking an anaphylactic shock, I rushed out of the house into my car with her father and drove to the hospital to see her, I didn’t know about this allergy she had since I never fed her eggs before.

How old is she OP? Has she never tried them whilst weaning ? (Usually in the U.K. they recommend trying all the common allergens early on, that's how we found out our DDs allergies)

Must have been very frightening. Hope she's ok?

How old is she? She should have tried all the major allergens by now if she’s weaned?

@AperolWhore @noliquidassets She’s 1, she’s a very fussy eater though she only eats organix for a snack and I usually make her avocado on toast for her breakfast when she doesn’t have daycare, Me and my dh never knew about the allergy, and for dinner she has spaghetti hoops on toast.

@noliquidassets it was terrifying when I got the call, I went yesterday to the hospital to visit her and she is free to go home on Tuesday, she seems a lot better now but the hospital wants to keep her in for observation and to run more tests to see if there are any other allergies such as nuts.

That must have been incredibly scary. Flowers

I have this allergy, my parents too found out the hard way when I was little. Eggs make me swell up and vomit very badly.

Advice wise get the hospital to talk things through with you. Eggs, egg power etc are in more things then you realise. I've also found I can eat somethings such as shop bought cake but home made cake makes me ill. I think this is due to the high egg content (mass production=low, small makes =high)

Also some vaccinations are grown on eggs such as the flu, if I did have it they would have to get a different one in for me to have.

It is manageable and its possible she may grow out of it.

My DC had egg allergy as a baby and grew out of it.

Get guidance from allergy specialist (make sure it's a proper medically qualified Dr).
