Hi,

Posting on here for some advice from anyone who might have been in a similar position.

My EBF 12 week old has had reflux / colic symptoms since around 4 weeks, inconsolable crying every day for a couple of hours, arching back, choking & gulping when feeding, only likes to sleep upright.

Alongside this her weight gain at her 6 & 8 week checks had slowed, so although gaining weight she was dropping on the centiles. her poo’s are often green, always v runny and have mucus in them, on average she does between 5-10 of them a day!

i have a HV appt to check her weight tomorrow, but does this sound like an allergy? Possibly CMPA? I just don’t want to get fobbed off by the GP but presumably if her weight gain has dropped again they’ll offer some checks?

Can’t offer much help as we’re in a similar situation! Dd is 4 months now and ff but from 2 weeks old had terrible reflux resulting in a hospital trip which ended in us being sent away with carobel. She has many of the same symptoms as your little girl besides her weight. We’ve done everything we’ve been told, holding up after feeds, burping regularly, dentinox, infacol, colief, carobel, anti reflux formula, gaviscon and now omeprazole which made things even worse, we’ve kept on at our gp numerous times with the help of our health visitor. Yesterday the gp agreed that she may have cmpa but instead of letting us try the prescription milk they want us to go to the hospital first despite the fact dd has been gaining weight just fine and when she isn’t screaming in pain, refusing bottles or projectile vomiting she’s such a happy content little girl. I would say to just keep at your gp and stand your ground. My niece suffered with cmpa and had very similar symptoms to both you and I and it wasn’t until they diagnosed her that she transformed into such a happy little girl that is now 2 and thriving! We know our babies best and it’s so difficult seeing them in so much pain and feeling helpless! A friend of mine ebf her little boy that was diagnosed with cmpa and a few weeks of her cutting dairy out of her diet and he was a different boy. I hope things get better for your little one! Best of luck
