Air purifiers? Do they help?

My dd8 has allergies we suspect to tree pollen and also possibly dust
A friend told me her son has similar and an air purifier in his bedroom made a difference.
Would love to hear any advice you have
Also on finding out about what the causes are. Nhs only don't realy have budget for private

We bought one. It seems to be helping a bit, but we started using it last week so I don't have enough data to actually evaluate the results.
But my baby is definitely coughing less and it seems his eyes are not so itchy anymore
