Does my dd4 have hay fever?

Hoping someone can offer some advice.. since Monday my dd4 has had a puffy/swollen face around the eyes (not the actual eye itself). At the same time she also has a cough/cold so a bit of sneezing too (but not excessive).

She was sent home from nursery on Wed as it was quite bad - we went to the pharmacy who said it didn't seem like an allergy as the eyes weren't red or itchy but said to try Piriton which we did - the puffiness went down a little.. visited doctor on Friday who checked her over - said it wasn't an infection so likely to be an allergy and to keep on with the Piriton or try another brand..

She just woken up and her face is so swollen Sad I've been wrecking my brain to think if we have starting using something that might have triggered it..

Could it be hayfever even if her eyes aren't very red? Which other antihistamines should we try if the Piriton isn't working?

Hayfever is bad for a lot of people at the moment. Pollen count has been very high. I'd go back to your GP, ask to see someone who specialises in allergies if possible?

My ds has the same symptoms though he’s 7 and we know it’s hay fever I’ve got a post on this board asking what to do as we’ve known it this bad he’s also been sent home from school we have on perscription eye drops, antibiotic cream and eye gel plus Piriton and cetirizine and a nasal spray and nothings helping I really do get it.

Thank you both for the replies - it's horrible seeing her little face so swollen, and it's been over a week so I am worried especially as if we don't know what causing the allergy, we can't do anything about it! We tried a different antihistamine today but didn't make much difference - I'm going to get back to the GP tomorrow.
