Rash Advice

My 1 year old son has developed a rash overnight and I have phoned 111 and they advised I go to the pharmacy. Pharmacist prescribed piriton as he thinks it looks like an allergic reaction. I’m still quite concerned about it, anyone have any clue what it could be? Only thing that he ate that was different was cod fish fingers.

Has the piriton had any effect on the rash @KirstyM11?

Not much it just seems to be pretty much the same or worse when he gets warm or when he goes for a warm bath

That doesn't sound like an allergy then, or at least I don't think it is.

Yeah I’m thinking the same. He did have tonsillitis last week so I’m thinking he’s maybe had strep and it’s now turned to scarlet fever. Hopefully he gets to see a doctor today

@KirstyM11 did you manage to get a diagnosis for the rash in the end?

KirstyM11 · 16/02/2022 06:45

@KellyMc93 well the nurse seen him and said it could just be a viral rash due to him having tonsillitis not long before the rash broke out. it did get worse before it better but he’s back to his usual self. Thanks for asking
