DS , 12 , is allergic to peanuts, cashews, and pistachios. He often eats eggs in baked goods or pancakes. He only usually likes egg whites, which he eats fried.
Today he came up in a skin rash on his chest, back and arms after eating a boiled egg, which he wouldn't normally eat. I gave antihistamines and he seems OK. It was about 25 minutes ago.
Is he now allergic to eggs? Was it the yolk, which he is not accustomed to eating? Can I still give him pancakes and cakes? Dare I try him with fried egg white again? What should I do/not do.
I am extremely anxious, especially about his allergies. Luckily we have never needed to use his epipen but I am constantly worrying about him, especially as he gets older.
