dh has allergies, ecxcema, asthma, nut allergy, so have delayed introduction of gluten with ds. now he is 9 months, am going to see how he gets on with oats, before wheat; but if he has a reaction to it, what kind of symptoms should i be looking for. has anyone with fh of allergies found a problem with oats?

alibo, i think there can be a problem with oats if there is a fh of eg coeliac disease and they recommend gluten-free for a year in such babies. also it's v hard to ensure oats haven't been contaminated because of production methods.

I gave porridge - rice, banana and 16% of oats in it - 4 teaspoons. Poor baby was covered in horrible rush on his legs next day. Don't rush! maybe try smth different?

yullyd, is that the oganix banana porridge? thats the one i was going to try. did the rash clear up, and are you going to avoid oats still?
