Switching from Neocate to alfamino?

Anyone had any experiences switching from Neocate to alfamino?

My LO has been on Neocate for 12 weeks now and a lot has improved. He was still unsettled so started Omeprazole which helped. The past 6 weeks have been great and he’s been really happy and settled.

The past 2 weeks Things declined so currently upped the Omeprazole again and waiting for that to kick in to see.

I have A feeling though that maybe Neocate isn’t suiting him. He has been constipated since being on it and now suffers with large patches of eczema on his forearm whereas he never had this before.

The past 2 weeks have gone really backward and it’s like being back in the newborn stage again where you can’t put him down and he’s struggling with this sleep at night again only sleeping on me and only cat napping in the day. He’s waking up screaming and then being sick.

Is it worth trialling alfamino? I am worried about upsetting again but I’m starting to feel really anxious around him due to everything going on. Everyone says how content and happy he is which is fine but once you put him down he just wants to be held, he’s not having having tummy time and isn’t using his mat as he’s constantly either sat up or being carried around.

I’m not sure what to do anymore after doing everything possible. 5 cranial sessions, 2x tongue tie divisions that has reattached again. I’m just fed up.

It could be worth looking at an Amino based formula, especially given the eczema.

Has he been referred to the Allergy Clinic yet?

@BunnyRuddington Neocate is amino acid unfortunately

And round here you only get referred if you have more than 1 allergen so will have to wait for weaning to expose anymore :(
