I am wheat intolerant (negative blood test for coeliac). I generally just eat low carb.

On holiday last week I tried the GF options whenever they were available. Wow! What a difference. No bloating, no painful trapped wind, no reflux, no itchy dry skin. But I have never before had such foul farts, and in such quantity.

Is there a particular ingredient in GF bread that causes this? What should I look out for?

I'm exactly the same!

Tested for coeliacs at 17 and negative but gave up wheat 6 years ago.

The wind is the change to your diet and your bowel adjusting. It'll settle.

And there's so much available now you really don't miss out!

But will my bowl adjust if I don't eat it frequently? Low carb eating suits me in other ways, too.

It's xanthan gum. Hideous stuff.

Most GF breads gave xanthan gum, but Genius Gluten Free Spicy Fruit Loaf is xanthan-free.

'Have' not gave
