Strange intolerances?

LO is 7months so been weaning for a few weeks. Started off well ...then had an egg allergy. Crazy rash but otherwise ok - were told to go to A+E just in case. Rash went by the time we were seen but given a plan to reintroduce eggs when she's one and go from there.

Lovely lovely.

Since then she's had mild blotchy rashes after sweet potato, and toast with butter?!

Still investigating at the moment. She's fine with cow's milk, other veg etc so far. Just odd!

Just wondered if anyone else has/had LOs with random intolerances and if they just went with time? Doesn't seem to be a consistent thing going on here.

Yes my DD would often get red blotchyarks around her mouth after eating raw tomatoes but only sometimes she never gets it now just when she was little

She also had the same egg reaction yours did but I kept giving her egg in really small doses after and then she seemed fine with it (vegan now so no more egg)
She has a but allergy tho but her allergy test says she's allergic to sind nuts she's always eaten 🤷‍♀️ so I've had to cut almonds out her diet even tho she was OK eating them but advised by the Dr to do so

They do say kids grow out of alot of these allergies etc and you should make sure they are not taken away completely if it's not a severe allergy but don't quote me on that!

Ohh and the toast and butter could just be the oil on the face

Try buying the same items but organic and see if there’s any difference. I had a boyfriend once who told me he was allergic to fruit and veg as they gave him a rash. We tried him with organic produce and — no rash. With him it was the pesticide residues that were causing the problem. I know that’s less likely to be the cause of an egg allergy but sometimes things like what they are feeding the chickens might differ in organic systems.

I am not saying this is a general fix for all or even many allergic ppl (I used to have serious allergies myself, including to the organic versions of foods) but it is worth trying just to see if it makes a difference. In my own case I had to avoid eating sugar as it would make me more reactive to other foods.

I wish you success in dealing with this problem.

So as update..she gets rashes from egg, sweet potato and bread - doesn't seem to the butter! Pasta is fine. Normal potato is fine. So mysterious! And making weaning stressful!!
