Hayfever steroid injection

Suffering hayfever worse than ever this year (probably because I am spending much more time outside being on adoption leave). Has anyone ever had the steroid injection? Does it work? Is it too late in the season to have it now?

I had it two days ago. Much better already. I saw this thread yesterday but wanted to wait a while before replying.
I paid for mine privately, I was at the end of my tether. Have never had the injection before but I had been so depressed that nothing else was working this year - Fexofenadine, started anti histamines in March, Dymista nasal spray, sunglasses, avoiding being outside, showers etc. All my usual arsenal.
I also wondered if I was late this year but went ahead. I know the site effects are not to be trifled with but I couldn't go on, I wanted to gouge my eyes out. In fact I am sure I must have damaged my eyes from all the rubbing and poking and squinting so tight my eyelashes were turning inside...... just for relief.
If all goes well, I will get it earlier next year.
