Wedding ring allergy?

Hello fellow allergists!

I am wondering if anyone can help?
I have dry skin, rosacea patches of
Ecezema and am fair.

I have never responded well to piercings, always had infections at the site. I Occasionally wear earrings for an Evening but get sore (and erm stinky) earlobes the next day. Obviously figured out I am Allergic to silver / Nickel early on.

I wear a yellow gold wedding band and engagement ring and for several years with no problems till 6 months ago.

Recently I have had dry, cracked, red and itchy sore skin around my wedding finger. Treated with sudocrem it dies down but whenever I pur my rings back on it gets sore right where the band is straight away.

Is it dermatitis or am I allergic to yellow
Gold? Obviously you won't know but has anyone else had this problem? Thank so much if you made me it this far!

If you’ve worn them for years with no issues I doubt it would be an allergy! Could it be moisture/sanitiser trapped under them? Just thinking with all the extra hand washing and sanitising

I have allergy to certain metals, assume something that comprises gold accessory. Normally I'm ok with wearing 18k gold, but I get reaction when I'm a bit under the weather or something.
I don't think allergy is to the gold itself, but the metal that's added to gold.
Getting wet do affect me getting reaction, so I take off rings when washing hands, cooking etc, and only wear it on drying properly.

Yeah, I've always been OK with yellow/white gold (I can't wear silver/have to nail polish the back of my watch etc) and currently struggling with sore fingers due to handwashing and sanitiser a million times a day.

I've currently not wearing my rings in the hope it heals fully, then will be having my rings cleaned properly to get rid of any nasties. Fingers crossed it'll be ok
