looking for oat milk for porridge - can you heat it up

I bought some oatly as I thought it was milky but its more like thick cream and won't cook.

Has anyone got any suggestions for oaty milk that can be heated and used for cooking?

milk to make porridge with? i just use standard milk that i put in brews......and if i've run out but cant be bothered to go to the shop for more i have used water and its just as good, just not as creamy tasting!!!

ahh just seen its within the allergies section.....i take it there's an allergy to milk then? thats why you want oaty milk?? water is good if you want to give it a go???

as op has posted in allergies im guessing that standard milk is out. i have never found a soya milk that heats well. not sure about oat or rice ones. how about making with water then putting oatly in top?

Only bought oat milk once (local health food store, look by the soya milk) and that was pretty thin. It could be warmed but I didn't try boiling it. Sorry can't help. We didn't like it.

porridge made with water is not that bad.

Might try moopymoo's idea of water and adding oatly at the end.

I bought the oatly at ASDA - but its labelled as a cream substitute rather than milk. Didn;t notice when i bought it.
