Constant cramping

Has anyone else’s little one had cramping all day and all night. I can’t put my 7 week old son down at all. As soon as I do, he wakes 30 seconds later cramping/seizing up. He has been like this for 3 weeks now. We changed his milk to an amino acid formula to rule out allergies but it hasn’t made any difference. He also has a floppy larynx and silent reflux. I can’t continue with zero sleep day and night. Can anyone help?

You have my total sympathy with this one as my DH was like this and would only sleep on me. It turned out to be tongue tie.

I had no idea tongue tie could cause cramping, it’s awful isn’t it. I’m hoping they would have already picked on if he has tongue tie. I have no idea what could be causing it. Wish it would stop now.

It's very unlikely that it would have been picked up unfortunately. Most HCPs have very little idea what tt looks like or how to check for it properly.

Did any of the symptoms in the article sound familiar?

Yes they do actually. Who was able to confirm tongue tie for you? Where can I get him checked?

Thanks so much.

Where can I get him checked?

Milk matters, the people who wrote the article do a virtual diagnosis service or you could contact a Tongue Tie Practioner Smile

Just to add that I was convinced it was an allergy as I have CMPA. The symptoms can very similar, especially with non-ige CMPA but he's fine with dairy and loves milk and cheese.

Thank you. I will get onto the health visitor tomorrow morning for sure. Was your little one cramping all the time too? Did she cramp in your arms too or only when put down?
