Steroid Withdrawal from Ezecma

My 20 year old son has always suffered from eczema, some years he was almost free of it others he got bad flare ups.
He has decided to go steroid free after being on it for probably way to long.
It's been about 5 months now & he gets bad outbreaks in different parts of his body at different time's .
He also is conscious about his diet , to much dairy is a trigger.
Has anyone else gone through steroid withdrawal? & if so how long did it take before you saw results & what helped?
Many Thanks

Hi @user1488826574 - I just saw this message. I went through topical steroid withdrawal. the first year was brutal, second year I was able to go back to work although still struggled a lot, third year started to see significant improvements and now five years on I am completely healed. I don't put anything on my skin at all and its amazingly soft.

There is a very helpful Facebook group called Red Skin Syndrom - Topical Steroid Withdrawal. Recommend joining it for support and help.

I'm in that Facebook group too. It's coming up to one year for me. It was awful and the list of things I tried is enormous. Giving up dairy, wheat and nightshades helped me. Don't put anything at all on it. (There's another Facebook group called NMT)
