Can anyone recommend a test for stomach issues?

I have felt unwell really for a good 5 years. Tiredness, headaches, hot flushes, body stiffness and pains and urgency for loo each more morning for over an hour. Always loose stools at any time of day and often after eating. It does seem to ebb and flow, not constantly very bad.

I seem to be getting nowhere with doctors so am considering paying for a blood test or stool analysis that might give me some evidence to take to the doctor.
At the moment I have had general blood tests for iron levels etc and then a test for stomach bugs when very recently I had high temp and awful Diarrhea for around two weeks. It was so bad I actually messed the bed. It is getting worse and I am feeling quite anxious and down about it all so happy to pay whatever I can to get to the bottom (hehe pun intended) of it. Has anyone had helpful results from testing?

Have they not referred you for a colonoscopy to check inside your Bowel ? I would push for it to rule out any possible bowel disease

I feel your pain OP.

I’ve had tummy issues too for two years and they won’t refer me as there is no blood in the stool.

Thank God there’s no blood, but the constant diarrhoea is exhausting

I’ve had to stop eating fruit, veg and anything with artificial sweeteners. I eat oatcakes instead or porridge for fibre.

Have you tried the FODMAP diet yet? I would recommend trying that. I was referred to an nhs dietician and that’s what she got me on. It didnt work for me but at least it ruled out certain things.
