Hi, I have a one yr old who is suffering really badly with his teeth and ear infections. We have a pattern where we have 3/4 good nights, 1 night with 1 cry another night with 2 cry's and then 3/4 nights with crying every hour it's continuous, he has had 4 ear infections and 5 teeth, we're off to the docs again today to check his ears. We use calpol/nurofen/mediced ashtons and calgel for his teeth and nothing works. My first child had none of these problems so it's a bit of a shock and we're a bit tired!! Has anyone had anyhing similar or any thought on what might help him?

My ds had recurrent ear infections. He eventually had an op at age two for grommits, adenoids and tonsils.
He had a few infections after the op but things have got much better as he got older.
His speach was delayed as the ear problems caused some temporary deafness. Make sure you get his hearing checked.

It is awful to see them suffer with it but painkillers and rest is about the best you can do.

Thanks I'll ask the doc about his hearing later, I know it's not great to get a/b's but like you say when they are in pain and nothing else is working you just want tham to get better.

Yep, think he had more antibiotics than the rest of our town put together.
